چکیده

This paper proposes a preliminary and large-scale survey methodology to identify areas suitable for indepth analysis the application of Sustainable Drainage Systems Managed Aquifer Recharge. These techniques are frequently applied increase natural infiltration capacity water into ground their effectiveness depends on local hydrogeological morphological characteristics. The study area is city Rome where aim mitigate problems related rainwater which, in case extreme events, struggles infiltrate ground, overloads undersized drainage systems, floods urban space. The proposed method involves GIS geospatial permeability outcropping lithologies, digital elevation model, piezometric levels aquifers. To zones, characterised by high level that would confer volumetric possibly store even large quantities water, without triggering possible table rise, were identified. Data divided classes indexed compare overlap them. Furthermore, final result was compared with flooding phenomena soil map Rome. results performed show conditions apply SuDS MAR widespread. geological setting permeable lithologies many places an effective potential allow subsoil reach first available aquifer.

Economics of Managed Aquifer Recharge

Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) technologies can provide a variety of water resources management benefits by increasing the volume of stored water and improving water quality through natural aquifer treatment processes. Implementation of MAR is often hampered by the absence of a clear economic case for the investment to construct and operate the systems. Economic feasibility can be evaluated usi...

Coupling distributed stormwater collection and managed aquifer recharge: Field application and implications.

Groundwater is increasingly important for satisfying California's growing fresh water demand. Strategies like managed aquifer recharge (MAR) can improve groundwater supplies, mitigating the negative consequences of persistent groundwater overdraft. Distributed stormwater collection (DSC)-MAR projects collect and infiltrate excess hillslope runoff before it reaches a stream, focusing on 40-400 h...

Policy and Economics of Managed Aquifer Recharge and Water Banking

Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) and water banking are of increasing importance to water resources management. MAR can be used to buffer against drought and changing or variable climate, as well as provide water to meet demand growth, by making use of excess surface water supplies and recycled waters. Along with hydrologic and geologic considerations, economic and policy analyses are essential to...

Geochemical Triggers of Arsenic Mobilization during Managed Aquifer Recharge.

Mobilization of arsenic and other trace metal contaminants during managed aquifer recharge (MAR) poses a challenge to maintaining local groundwater quality and to ensuring the viability of aquifer storage and recovery techniques. Arsenic release from sediments into solution has occurred during purified recycled water recharge of shallow aquifers within Orange County, CA. Accordingly, we examine...

Spatial and temporal infiltration dynamics during managed aquifer recharge.

Natural groundwater recharge is inherently difficult to quantify and predict, largely because it comprises a series of processes that are spatially distributed and temporally variable. Infiltration ponds used for managed aquifer recharge (MAR) provide an opportunity to quantify recharge processes across multiple scales under semi-controlled conditions. We instrumented a 3-ha MAR infiltration po...
